Another big night of racing and fan fun is on tap this Friday with the Badgerland Challenge for the Club LaMark NASCAR Late Models along with the Pellitteri Waste Systems Bandits, Dave’s White Rock Sportsman, and Roto Rooter 6Shooters all presented by Matco Tools. Plus it’s Fan Autograph Night with all divisions meeting and greeting their fans.
Lineups for the Badgerland Challenge will be based on what was determined on June 10th before the rains washed out the program. The same will be done for the Bandits and first of two 6Shooter features. Cars not at the June 10th event are still welcome to race this Friday. See our website at misracing.com for more details.
But the hottest action of the year will also take place this Friday when the legendary Doug Rose comes to Madison with his Green Mamba Jet Car. See the Green Mamba completely melt down a vehicle right in front of the grandstands. If you haven’t seen this you definitely won’t want to miss it. If you’ve seen the Green Mamba then you know what we mean.
Pit gates open at 3:30 followed by practice at 5:00, qualifying at 6:15, autograph session following autographs, and racing at 7:30. Family pricing is just $30.00 for two adults and up to four students / children. Adult admission is $12.00 / Whelen Heroes and Seniors are $10.00 / Students 12-17 are $8.00 / Kids 6-11 are $5.00. Free NASCAR autograph cards to the first 1,000 fans.
Attention Sportsman: Now Here’s a Great Deal
This Friday will be a full racing program for the Dave’s White Rock Sportsman with a great deal for all teams. Thanks to Quest Industrial of Monroe, teams can receive three free pit passes and a temporary NASCAR license (if necessary) if you come out and race with us this week. Join the action on Wisconsin’s Fastest Half-Mile.
Friday Night Review
Congratulations to Friday night feature winners Dan Jung (Midwest Trucks), Bill Prietzel (MASCS), Kyle Stark (Midwest Dash), and Dave Trute (Great Northern Sportsman Series). Also hats off to Chris Koepke who won the first ever “Beer Mile’ by running four laps around the Ring of Fire after consuming a beer before each lap.
Jung took home his first-ever win in a truck in only his second start as he held off Dave Edwards who won the last time the trucks were here. Dave Trute and Kyle Stark were repeat winners in their respective divisions while multi-time Mid American champion Bill Prietzel held off a competitive field to pick up the win.
More than a dozen hearty souls took the Beer Mile challenge with Koepke doing a superb job of balancing his running and drinking to set the record in the first ever event. His time of 6:46 will definitely be tough to beat in the future, but many are in training now for next year’s run.
